Upgrade Process
Upgrading to Veeam ONE 13.0 is straightforward, but it’s essential to follow best practices to ensure a smooth transition:
1. Pre-Upgrade Checklist:
– Backup Your Configuration: Take a backup of your SQL Server database before upgrading for easy rollback.
– Review System Requirements: Verify that your infrastructure meets the system requirements for Veeam ONE 13.0. The requirements can be found on the Veeam ONE help page: Veeam ONE 13 – System Requirements.
2. Performing the Upgrade:
– Download the Update: Obtain the Veeam ONE 13.0 update from the official Veeam website or your Veeam account portal. The ISO file can also be accessed from the KB link posted above.
– Install the Update: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update. The process typically involves stopping Veeam services, applying the update, and restarting them.
You can follow these steps for the upgrade –
Once you mount the ISO file and run the SETUP.EXE file, you are presented with the Upgrade screen; click Upgrade.

You will then select the component to upgrade—in my case, it was just Veeam ONE, as I had an all-in-one installation. You will then accept the license agreement as well.

After accepting the license agreement, the installer will display the components that will be upgraded, along with their current and target versions. Click the Next button to proceed.

You are then shown the Service Account step, followed by a system configuration check. You are also shown the Veeam Analytics screen, which scans your Veeam Backup servers to ensure they are compatible for installation.

In my case, my Veeam Backup server was not online, so I had to ensure it was rebooted before I could select the credentials and then run a re-check. After the recheck, the server showed it was ready to go. I clicked Next to proceed.

The final screen to start the upgrade process is presented. You will click the Upgrade button to begin, and during the installation, you will see tips on the latest enhancements and other relevant information. Once completed, you receive the same dialog as the first one, except that you click “Finish” to complete the upgrade process.

That completes the upgrade process.
3. Post-Upgrade Steps:
– Verify the Upgrade: To ensure the upgrade was successful, verify the version number and ensure all services are running correctly.
Some other new features in Veeam ONE 13.0 include the login dialog for the Veeam ONE Client, login for the Veeam ONE Web Client, the ability to use Dark Mode in the Web UI Client, and new desktop icons.

Conclusion
The Veeam ONE 13.0 upgrade brings significant improvements and new capabilities to enhance your data monitoring & reporting strategy. By following the outlined steps and leveraging the new features, you can ensure a smooth upgrade process and fully utilize the capabilities of Veeam ONE 13.0.
