Veeam Software Appliance (VSA) – Deployment – SSL Warning FIX

After the release of the new Veeam Software Appliance (VSA) v13 today, I am deploying the new v13 VSA using the OVA method in my lab VMware environment, and discovered that when deploying, you could see an SSL warning for the OVA, like this –

SSL Warning and Ignore option

There is a fix for this, but it requires installing two CA certificates from Entrust into the vCenter Trusted Root Store, which can be done through the vCenter Web UI.  Once those are installed in your vCenter, deploying the OVA will not display the SSL warning and will show a valid certificate.

After that, when deploying OVA, there are no more warnings and a valid certificate –

Hopefully, this helps those who are keen on testing things in your lab environments.

Additionally, this issue was brought to Veeam’s attention, and they will discuss how to enhance the process to resolve and prevent warnings without requiring the manual installation of SSL certificates, particularly for large deployments.
