Veeam 100 Summit Recap – Prague 2025

I’d like to first thank Rick VanoverMadalina CristilNikola Pejková, Safiya Mohamed, and everyone at Veeam for their efforts and support leading up to my fourth Veeam 100 Summit. It’s a HUGE undertaking that requires extensive coordination. This was my fourth time attending the event in person. It was an honour to attend such a prestigious event for the fourth time and to meet many fellow Vanguards, Legends, and MVPs in person for the first time, as well as from previous Veeam 100 Summit events.  It is amazing how being at an event and speaking with others of the same mindset makes you feel great.  As for the host cityPrague, it was my third time visiting for the summit, and it did not disappoint, as usual.

This summit was different because I had my family with me, so we could explore the sites and go on some tours. We arrived on Saturday to get an extra day in, but the first day was not much to write about, as we were jet-lagged and ended up in bed by 7 PM, sleeping through the night. Sunday was a new and fresh day after catching up on sleep. We decided to do a bus tour, which ended up at the castle for a 30-minute stop to explore. My wife and daughter enjoyed seeing all the architecture of Prague, which is beautiful. That same evening, when other folks arrived, we went on an Underground Tour that showcased parts of Prague still there today but not visible. It was an excellent adventure for the first full day, and I even showed the family the shopping center around the corner, knowing they would go there while I was in the conference.

Below are some pictures from the underground tour.

Day 0, which was Monday, November 3rd, was registration, badge collection, swag collection, and the Veeam SureBackup session. I did not personally attend the SureBackup session and heard there were some technical difficulties with the lab portion, but IT would not be IT if there were no problems. The evening was followed by the welcome reception hosted by Wasabi & Object First

The “Jenga”-style trophy received a new block for 2025, but most found that it was slightly larger than the previous two-year blocks. So an email was sent out asking if anyone would like a new block that would fit, or if you could file down the one you have to make it fit. (A little humour below)

Day 1, Tuesday, November 4th, marked the first full day of summit sessions. The usual General Session began, which outlined what is to come with Veeam and many of the other sessions to attend. We also heard from both event sponsors, Wasabi and Object First.

After the opening general session, we then proceeded to sessions about:

  • Veeam acquires Securiti AI (RED)
  • Wasabi Session
  • Veeam Data Platform AI
  • What’s New in Veeam ONE 13
  • VDC, VRO, Kasten Updates (YELLOW)
  • Veeam Data Platform – Version 13 Latest Improvements

Due to the RED & YELLOW content, unfortunately, there is nothing more I can comment on for these topics. Below is some green content on new stuff in Version 13. Some of the best things that have been added to Version 13 are:

  • VSA Appliance
  • HA for the VSA Appliance
  • Veeam ONE 13 – HA Monitoring
  • Universal CDP
  • And much more

This day was rounded out with the traditional Dalrymple Toast, started by Craig Dalrymple. This year was also special, as it marked the first award recipient in honour of the late Brad Jervis, a fellow Vanguard who tragically passed away. Each year, one Veeam 100 member will be nominated for the award. Jim Jones was the inaugural recipient this year. Congratulations again, Jim!

Day 2, which was Wednesday, November 5th – this was the final full day of more great sessions; however, choosing was difficult, as the sessions were split between two rooms, where you had to pick one or the other at the specific timeslot. In some cases, the opposite sessions had a Teams meeting going, so you could multitask.

I had two colleagues who attended the summit this year –

Veeam User Group LeaderHin Tang

Veeam LegendTommy O’Shea

So we decided to divide and conquer to get the most exposure for the sessions on day two. The sessions I attended were:

Enterprise Backup Updates with Petr Makarov

VSPC 9.1 with Chris Arceneaux & Ivan Kochemasov (YELLOW Session)

Veeam Software Appliance Autodeploy with Baptiste Tellier, Egor Yakovlev & Hannes Kasparick (YELLOW Session)

These sessions were yellow, so there is nothing further to post about them.

The final session was the always RED content Product Management AMA. Full of some great details and things to come for Veeam in 2026! The day concluded with the Veeam 100 Summit celebration at the Pilsner Urquell Brewery.

Thursday was checkout day and the day I travelled back home with the family. We loved Prague, but it was time to get back home. Until next year, Prague!

Please check out additional Veeam 100 Summit posts from fellow attendees, which include:

As always, a huge thank you to Veeam, Rick VanoverNikola PejkovaSafiya Mohamed, and Madalina Cristil for all the hard work and effort you put into this event, as well as for the support you provide to all the attendees. Here is to a great end to 2025, and looking forward to 2026 with what is to come.

Lastly, I will leave you with some more photos I took while in Prague, walking around the wonderful city, especially at night. My daughter and I even tried the chimney ice cream this time around. 🙂
